Apple Maps Listing Guide

Why Apple Maps matters
When someone with an iPhone searches for directions or taps an address, their phone uses Apple Maps by default — not Google Maps. In the United States, roughly half of all smartphones are iPhones. That means if your practice is not in Apple Maps, you are invisible to a large portion of potential patients who are navigating to you.
Apple manages its business listings through a free tool called Apple Business Connect. Setting it up takes about 15 minutes and requires an Apple ID — which you almost certainly already have if you own an iPhone, iPad, or Mac.
Before you start: confirm your Apple ID
An Apple ID is the account you use to sign in to your iPhone, download apps from the App Store, or use iCloud. It is an email address paired with a password.
To find your Apple ID on an iPhone: go to Settings and look at the very top of the screen — your Apple ID email address is shown there under your name.
If you do not have an Apple ID, create one at:
appleid.apple.com/account
Two-factor authentication is required. Apple requires that your Apple ID have two-factor authentication turned on before you can use Apple Business Connect. This means when you sign in on a new device or website, Apple sends a 6-digit code to your iPhone or another trusted device to confirm it is really you. If you are not sure whether this is turned on, go to Settings → [Your Name] → Password & Security on your iPhone and look for "Two-Factor Authentication." If it says "On," you are ready. If it says "Off," tap it and follow the steps to turn it on.
Step 1 — Sign in to Apple Business Connect
-
On a computer (not your phone), open a web browser and go to:
businessconnect.apple.com - Click "Sign in with Apple ID" and enter your Apple ID email and password.
- Apple will send a 6-digit code to your iPhone. Enter that code when prompted.
- Once signed in, click "Get Started" or "Add your business."
Step 2 — Find your existing listing
Apple Maps may already have your practice in its database, pulled from public data sources. Before creating a new listing, search for it:
- In the search box, type Tahoe Neurofeedback and look at the results.
- Also try searching your phone number: (530) 606-5168. Apple sometimes indexes listings by phone number even if the name is different.
- If you find a listing that matches — even if the details are wrong — click "Claim this place" and continue to Step 3.
- If nothing comes up, click "Add a new location" and continue to Step 3.
Step 3 — Verify ownership
Apple will ask you to prove that you are the owner of the business. It offers three methods:
Phone call to your business number — fastest option
Apple calls (530) 606-5168 with an automated message containing a code. Answer the call, write down the code, and enter it on screen. This is the fastest method and usually completes in under a minute.
Upload a document
Upload a scan or clear photo of a document that shows your business name and address — a business license, a utility bill for the office, or a bank statement. Apple reviews documents within 3–5 business days.
Manual review by Apple
If the other options are not available, Apple can manually review your information. This takes 3–5 business days.
The phone call option is by far the quickest. Apple will call your current business number, (530) 606-5168, so you just need to answer.
Step 4 — Enter your business information
Use the exact information below. Copy and paste where possible.
Business name
Tahoe Neurofeedback
Category
Search for Psychologist and select it as the primary category. If Apple also allows secondary categories, add Mental Health Clinic or Counselor if available.
Address
8331 North Lake Blvd., Suite C Kings Beach, CA 96143
Phone
(530) 606-5168
Website
https://tahoeneurofeedback.com
Hours
Enter your actual office hours. If appointments vary, select "By appointment" if Apple offers that option. Otherwise, enter your typical availability.
Step 5 — Add photos
Apple Maps displays photos on your listing. The same photos you used for Google Business Profile work perfectly here. Add at least:
- A cover photo — office exterior, the building, or signage
- An interior photo of the waiting area or office
- A logo if you have one
Photos should be JPG or PNG, at least 800×800 pixels. Avoid text overlays.
After submitting
If you verified by phone call, your listing should be live in Apple Maps within 24–48 hours. If you submitted documents for review, it may take 3–5 business days.
To check your listing after it goes live, open the Maps app on your iPhone and search for "Tahoe Neurofeedback." Your listing should appear with the correct details. If anything looks wrong, log back in to businessconnect.apple.com and edit it.
Apple Business Connect also has a free Showcases feature that lets you post updates, promotions, or announcements directly on your Apple Maps listing — similar to Google Posts. This is optional but worth exploring once your listing is verified.
